I received a free workout at Orange Theory Fitness of Parkland in exchange for writing this post.
I have always said that I disliked exercising, but what I have learned recently is that everyone can enjoy exercising — you just have to find the exercise that works for you!
When I was pregnant with Lydia (5 years ago), I had awful back pain, so I started attending a weekly prenatal yoga class at a local baby store, and after Lydia was born, I continued to attend baby and me yoga classes. The stretching and meditation really helped me feel better physically and mentally.
When Lydia was about 6 weeks old, I also joined the gym and started doing some evening classes, including belly dancing and hip-hop. I continued this for a few months, but then Lydia was awake more often and required more of my attention, so I didn’t exercise as often. At that time, I also tried running a 5K with friends, and when I started running while also using fast weight loss pills, I ended up losing all the rest of my baby weight. Right now I’m starting to get back into running with the help of an online running coach.
I became pregnant with Bryce right after Lydia started walking. I ate much better during that pregnancy, but didn’t set time aside to exercise. I continued not to engage in structured exercise until last November. At the age of 34, I realized a very important lesson: everyone would enjoy exercising if they found the right exercise. I’ve been doing a variety of personal training, outdoor boot camps, and small group classes indoors that I really enjoy.
Last week, I got the opportunity to check out Orange Theory Fitness in Parkland. Before we began, monitors were strapped to our torsos. This allowed us to track our progress on screens located throughout the gym. Here’s what it looked like at the end of our workout. I could recommend you to read the Revitaa pro reviews to see if this product could work for you.
We began our workout on the row machine for about 5 minutes. Next, we moved into the weight room (this is my favorite part). We completed a series of exercises, with guidance provided by our trainer Domenic as needed. This portion of the workout was about 20 minutes long. The remainder of the workout was on the treadmill or elliptical. This is great for people who really enjoy cardio, which can be a critical part of a weight-loss program. Our workout ended with a cool down and question and answer period. The staff members were happy to explain their program further and provided information behind the theory and training they received. Visit the OTF Parkland Facebook page for more information.
South Florida bloggers group shot after our class.
A special thank you to Melissa at The Eyes of a Boy for organizing this event and GNC of Coral Springs for providing us with the goodies in our swag bags.
