Moving from the “too big” feeling of South Florida to the “close community” feeling of North-Central Florida has been a pretty amazing experience for my family. Not only is it a college town home to an amazing university, it’s also a really cool place to raise a family. Every weekend, we head to all different types of events, like food truck rallies, museum exhibits, pumpkin festivals, and tailgating parties. I did mention I now live in probably the biggest college town in Florida, right? Tailgating events are everywhere, from your local pizza place to community squares to golf courses. I decided to combine the food truck vibe with a tailgating theme to create this Waffle Bar Tailgating Party.

Read below to learn more about my experience at Walmart with the Eggo Waffle Bar Truck + my fun party inspiration!
Use the locator to find an EggoWaffle Truck event near you.

Most events around town start around 5 pm and last until late at night, so I thought I’d take you from afternoon to evening with this awesome waffle bar. I began by heading to Walmart to purchase the following ingredients to create my waffle bar spread:

  • Eggo Waffles {Homestyle & Chocolate Chip}
  • Smucker’s® Hot Fudge Spoonable Ice Cream Topping
  • Hungry Jack® Original Syrup
  • Breyers® Natural Vanilla Ice Cream
  • Jif Creamy Peanut Butter
  • M&M’S® Minis Milk Chocolate Candies
  • Capri Sun® Fruit Refreshers
  • Planters Dry Roasted Peanuts
  • Folgers Classic Roast Coffee
  • Frozen DOLE® Sliced Strawberries
  • DOLE® Pineapple Tidbits

Because this is a backyard party, I set it up very simply: wooden picnic table, string of lights through the trees, and the wooden fence in the backdrop. The focal point of my spread is my awesome new toaster oven – I thought it gave the perfect retro vibe to this post. I also chose wooden utensils, coordinating plates, and metal accents. This simplicity allows your food to be the star of the show {or the game in this situation}. I carried through with the tailgating theme using football labels on the water bottles, stickers on the utensil buckets, and this awesome football cutting board.

To one side of the table, I placed a beverage station. A little coffee, juice pouches, and bottled water. To the right, my topping bar. With such a fun assortment, everyone can create a waffle they love! I placed the pineapple, strawberry, and M&M’S® Minis in glass jars so that partygoers can see all of the toppings easily.

My toaster oven allowed guests to select a waffle of their choice and toast it up at their leisure {hooray, extension cords}! In just minutes, it’s time to build a delicious waffle treat with everyone’s favorite ingredients. Delicious News! Eggo waffles now have no artificial flavors and colors from natural sources.

I created several combinations of ingredients. The first was a peanut-themed waffle. I began with one Eggo Homestyle Waffle, topped it with Jif Creamy Peanut Butter, Breyers® Natural Vanilla Ice Cream, Planters Dry Roasted Peanuts, and a tablespoon of M&M’S® Minis Milk Chocolate Candies. This creates one serving. {This recipe is about 500 calories and 22 grams of sugar.}

For my next waffle, I spread a layer of , Smucker’s® Hot Fudge Spoonable Ice Cream Topping, then added Breyers® Natural Vanilla Ice Cream, and topped it with DOLE Sliced Strawberries and Hungry Jack® Original Syrup. This creates one serving.

As it got darker outside, we continued to enjoy our tasty Waffle Bar treats. What a fun way to enjoy watching your favorite team play!

I guess it’s time I show you my inspiration for this Waffle Bar Tailgating Party — It’s the Eggo Waffle Bar Truck! This truck is traveling the country creating awesome recipes you can easily re-create at home. I found this truck at my local Walmart over the weekend. I was able to choose from a list of four different waffle and topping combinations or create my own. Best of all? It was free! How awesome is that?

Check out the Eggo Waffle Bar Truck for your Walmart exclusive inspiration guide and additional savings while supplies last! The inspiration guide has even more inspiration on bringing the waffle bar home!

If you’d like to create a Waffle Bar Tailgating Party of your own, head to Walmart where you can find all of the ingredients I included and more. Invite your friends over, create tasty snacks, and enjoy watching the game together!

What toppings would you put on your waffle?
