Enjoy this fun Spider-Man Movie Snack during a movie night with the family, watching Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse on Blu-Ray.

Now that the kids are older, it’s fun to watch movies together. They totally understand the plot, the details, the characters, and can actually discuss the movies well afterwards. That’s why I surprised them by picking up a copy of Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse on Blu-Ray and DVD and made them a fun movie watching snack. If you have not seen the movie yet, Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse introduces Brooklyn teen Miles Morales and the limitless possibilities of the Spider-Verse, where more than one can wear the mask. This movie even won the Academy Award for best animated feature, so you know it’s an awesome family film. This Spider-Man Movie Snack includes cereal, chocolate-coated candies, sprinkles, and from-scratch candy spiders. Learn how to make this fun treat below! Spider-Man Movie Snack Ingredients:

• 2 cups Honeycomb® cereal
• Red sprinkles
• Blue sprinkles
• Red and/or blue chocolate-coated candies
• 4 ounces black candy melts
• 4 ounces white candy melts
• Candy eyes

 

Spider-Man Movie Snack Directions:

Begin by preparing the candy spiders. Place the black candy melts in a glass bowl and place in the microwave for 30 seconds. Remove, stir, and place back in the microwave for an additional 30 seconds. Continue this process until the candy is completely melted. Add the melted candy to a small plastic squirt bottle with a fine tip. You can also use a pastry bag. Line a cookie sheet with a silicone mat. Draw small spiders using the melted candy in the bottle. Add two eyes to each spider, and place the cookie sheet in the refrigerator to cool.

Line a second cookie sheet with a silicone mat. Lay Honeycomb® cereal in a single layer. Honeycomb® is a modern-day classic cereal, reminiscent of childhood and perfect for this movie snack because the Honeycomb® cereal pieces look like individual spider webs! Follow the same process above to melt the white candy, and place it in a second bottle. Drizzle the candy all over the Honeycomb®. Add the red and blue sprinkles over the melted candy. This is a fun way for your children to participate in making this snack {if it’s not a surprise for them}. Place this tray in the refrigerator to set.

When both candy trays have hardened, break up the cereal “webs” and add them to a large bowl. Place the candy spiders all over the top, and then add the red and/or blue chocolate candies. Your Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse movie snack is ready to serve! Kick back on the couch with some blankets, this Spider-Man snack, and your kiddos and enjoy family movie night.
