Sharing our Pre-Renovation Home
Last June, we moved into our new home in Gainesville, Florida. While house-hunting we had some options:
- Purchase a move-in ready home at the top of our budget.
- Purchase a home that needed a few renovations at the middle of our budget.
- Purchase a home that needed extensive renovations at the bottom of our budget and apply for rehab loans.
To get a customized appearance, we opted for #3: a fixer-upper and then hired a local company to value the finished home like Perth Property Valuers online does. These are the original photos of our home {actually from the real estate listing}. When we initially saw the listing online, there was something about it that I really liked. It was originally 1900 square feet {we added another 360 square feet} and it is on .3 acres of land.
Naturally, we hired an inspector to check the whole house and thankfully, there are only minimal repairs needed and there’s nothing wrong with the foundation. That would’ve spoiled our renovation plans. In case you find any cracks on your home’s foundation and walls, you probably need to hire a residential foundation repair company to evaluate and improve the structural integrity of your home. On the other hand, if you need to move a wall in your house as a part of your remodeling project, a wall repositioning company can take care of that job.
There were some features we really loved, like the real wood floors in the main living space and huge spa tub in the bathroom, and some things that had to go, like the entire kitchen and the screened-in patio. We’re also thinking about hiring professional roofers who can provide excellent residential and commercial roofing services to do some roofing replacement and repairs. Visit https://floridaroofing.com/services/roof-repair-services/ to know more. You can also visit Bondoc Roofing or similar services to know more.
We might also need the services of professional plumbers like the ones from this site https://macvik.com/ to inspect and do the necessary septic tank cleaning, grease trap pumping, Drainfield Restoration, and other residential septic services on our home’s plumbing system. In addition, we are planning to remove the old oil tanks left by the previous homeowners. Over time, exterior tanks become outdated, and they are not used nearly as much as they once were. If you have an old exterior tank, calling in a team of oil tank removal specialists is your best bet. The longer you leave an old oil tank in place, the more of a hazard and eyesore it will become.
As we complete our renovations, I will add more posts that show you the completed look room-by-room. For now, enjoy the before photos! And if you’re also remodeling your home, Visit www.topconcrete.ca for more information on hiring a residential concrete contractor in your area. In addition, they can also deliver a concrete pump primer and concrete mixing equipment promptly that is ready for use.
Don’t forget about pflugerville epoxy coatings when you’re remodeling your house. Many professionals near you can help you during this process for faster solution.
Swimming pools that fibreglass pool installers put are a great addition to a backyard. Pools provide entertainment value and improve quality of life. However, there is a legitimate debate over the return on investment for swimming pool construction.
The average cost of an in-ground swimming pool is in excess of $21,000. If you are looking in to a pool addition, the Pool contractors in Houston can’t beat the quality at Waterside Poolscapes.
If you’re a planning a major home renovation, it is recommended to get residential dumpster rentals or Commercial Roll Off Dumpster Rentals for better waste collection and waste disposal management throughout the construction and cleanup phases of your project. You might also need the services of professional janitorial services to help you clean the area after your home renovation process.
