I’m ready to share my word of the year for 2020 with tips to make the year an awesome one!
I feel like everyone is in “How did 2019 go so quickly? How is it already 2020?” mode. But honestly, I’m totally ready to take on a new year with excitement, determination, and creativity. Last year was such a huge transition—moving from working at home to taking on a full-time teaching job—and I have learned so much. Here are my ideas for being a successful teacher, mom, wife, and individual in 2020—and how smartwater® can help!
So you came here to learn my word of the year, right?
Here it is: INNOVATION.
I really tried to select a word that combined the excitement, determination, and creativity that I feel going into 2020. I’m determined to take care of my mental and physical health, I’m excited about improving as an educator and blogger, and I’m going to pour my creative energy into everything I do. Here are some ways I can work INNOVATION into all aspects of my life:
I’ve been in such a food rut recently. I spend so little time meal planning, snack planning, etc. I decided last weekend to get on Pinterest to find new ways to prepare my favorite vegetables and proteins, and I’m already feeling inspired. I also tried new ingredients and products at the grocery store. This doesn’t just apply to mealtime but snacking as well. Hydration is always an issue for me, as I usually forget to drink water throughout the day, so rather than just drinking tap water, I decided to try four new flavors of smartwater®. Paired with some sliced apples, a few pieces of cheese, or a handful of nuts, this refreshing smartwater makes an awesome snack that’s unsweetened and zero calories. It’s subtly infused with hints of fruit and herbal flavor. Head to Winn-Dixie where you can try all four flavors: Pineapple Kiwi, Strawberry Blackberry, Cucumber Lime, Watermelon Mint. But if you were not into a flavored-water, then I can recommend the Hydroviv a soft water that removes contaminants in your drinking water. Check for the Hydroviv Reviews now and find out the best it can give.
Next up? Planning, planning, and more planning. I’ve always thought of myself as being a very spontaneous, free-spirited individual, and while that is totally fun, it can also get a bit stressful and does not work with my current teaching profession. However, boring planning just won’t do. So, I have some big dreams for my classroom in 2020 — and it starts with innovation! I’d love to transform my classroom into a really engaging space that looks more like a living room in a trendy apartment. I tend to rush through projects like these, but I really want to give it my all to make it a beautiful and engaging space. Planning and innovative thinking are key!
While planning is essential, it’s also important to remember to have fun! This may include date night with Richard; alone time binge-watching my favorite documentaries; or playtime with my kids, the dogs, and our three hens {Jack Jack, Cocoa, and Ginger}. I may have to find some innovative ways to enjoy where we live. Gainesville in January through April has beautiful weather, so a nice walk outside is awesome, too. And of course, spontaneous road trips throughout the year are a must.
So what’s YOUR word of the year? How will you incorporate that word into your everyday life to make 2020 the best year yet?
If you’re looking to try new foods in the new year, head to Winn-Dixie! It was the store we frequented the most when I was a child, and I still head there when I want to try a new snack or beverage.
