Fall into healthier habits by making simple changes to your diet and exercise routines.

The summer tends to make us slack off. We all have the best intentions—“I’m going to go to the gym every other day!” “We’re going to prepare all our meals at home as a family!” “We’ll go swimming regularly to get in some extra exercise!” but let’s be honest, those summer plans never *really* seem to come to fruition. And that’s okay—we had a blast this summer! But now that the kids are back in school, the focus is on our health as a family. I’m back to organizing my schedule better, and it’s time to get into the routine of monitoring my family’s overall wellness. Here are 4 simple swaps to Fall into Healthier Habits, like walking more with your kids and swapping some of your snacks for better options—like LÄRABAR Fruit & Nut Bars.

Get a digital coupon for $0.50 off 2 LÄRABAR bars at your local Publix between 10/1/18 – 10/31/18 using ReadyPlanSave.

Healthier Habits Snacking

Healthier Habits: Better Snacking

We are a family of snackers. It seems as though no matter how many snacks we purchase, we devour them within days. Here are a few simple swaps to ensure your family is making great choices when it comes to snacking:

  • Swap out chips and pretzels for nuts like almonds and cashews
  • Swap out ice cream for frozen yogurt or real-fruit popsicles
  • Swap out crackers for a fresh slice of sourdough bread
  • Swap out sugary cookies and granola bars for vegan macarons from butterwickcakes

LÄRABAR come in flavors like some of your other favorite snacks and desserts—Cherry Pie, Chocolate Chip Brownie, and Coconut Cream Pie—but are made with Fair Trade Certified ingredients. They are also dairy-free, vegan, gluten-free, and non-GMO. You can purchase a variety of individual LÄRABAR bars at Publix.

Healthier Habits Flowers

Healthier Habits: Enjoy Nature

The summertime heat makes it difficult for me to truly appreciate the outdoors. As the weather begins to cool, I can start to really appreciate nature. Swap out screen time for time spent outdoors. Take a stroll through your favorite state park, a local nature trail, or even a farmer’s market. It’s amazing to see how the flowers change with the seasons. If you spend your time glued to the computer or television, you miss that.

Healthier Habits Walk

Healthier Habits: Walk, Run, or Ride a Bike

As the weather cools down, the idea of taking a walk, running outdoors, and riding a bike becomes so much more appealing. My favorite temperature is about 65 degrees. When that fall weather hits, I love walking to nearby locations—like our community’s village center with small shops and restaurants. This fall, swap out your car rides for a walk, run, or bike ride in the beautiful weather! Ecosmo have an amazing choice of foldable bikes click here to find the best for you.

Healthier Habits Hydrate

Healthier Habits: Stay Hydrated

Staying hydrated is something that I am not always so good at, so it is something I will definitely be working on this fall. Remember to swap out your high-calorie drinks—whether those are sodas, juices, or iced lattes—for water. If you want to give your water a little kick, add a splash of freshly-squeezed lemon juice, lime juice, or orange juice. Confession: I totally left my water bottle in the car today during my yoga-pilates class, and I was in need of a drink the whole time. I need to do a better job reminding myself to not just fill up my water bottles but actually bring them into the gym while working out, stores while shopping, and my kids’ school while volunteering.

Larabar at Publix

Head to Publix where you can find a variety of snacks to swap out your old standbys with better-for-you options, like LÄRABAR Fruit & Nut Bars. Publix is my go-to grocery store with several locations just minutes from my home. I visited the nutrition aisle, which gave me the opportunity to purchase individual LÄRABAR Fruit & Nut Bars in a variety of flavors like Apple Pie, Cashew Cookie, and Peanut Butter Cookie. Grab a few next time you are at Publix to discover your favorite flavors!
