Have fun making this edible Christmas tree craft and holiday trail mix when you plan a Christmas Tree Party!
I am so excited to share these ideas with you! I planned out a really fun Christmas tree party with all of the amazing tree decor I could find to celebrate just how much I enjoy decorating the tree each year. These party ideas are perfect for both children and adults, so feel free to invite friends and family of all ages. Detailed instructions below for an edible Christmas tree craft and holiday trail mix.
Christmas Tree Party: Edible Christmas Trees
This craft is perfect for a party in your home or at your child’s school. Combine different varieties of cereal, frosting, and sprinkles to make beautiful edible Christmas trees with kids!
Ingredients:
- Three Kellogg’s cereal varieties: Raisin Bran, Froot Loops, Frosted Mini Wheats
- Ice cream cones with flat edges
- Green frosting
- Sprinkles
Directions:
Begin by gathering all of your ingredients to make these edible Christmas trees! Different Kellogg’s cereal varieties – like Raisin Bran, Froot Loops, and Frosted Mini Wheats – help to add a festive touch to your edible craft.
Begin by coating your ice cream cone with a layer of green frosting. Add Froot Loops as decorations. I selected red, orange, and yellow Froot Loops, but you can use whichever colors you like to make a colorful Christmas tree. Add sprinkles, too – You can find really fun holiday sprinkles that are green and red with small candy canes, gingerbread men, snowflakes, etc. Make your tree super fun!
I purchased large baking cups to use as Christmas Tree skirts. I placed my tree in the middle, and surrounded the tree with fallen leaves {Raisin Bran} and snowballs {Frosted Mini Wheats}. If you get a lot of kids involved, you can make an entire forest of edible Christmas Trees. You can even use them as decorations on a holiday cake covered in crunchy cereal. How fun would that be?
Christmas Tree Party: Holiday Trail Mix
Next up, a tasty holiday trail mix treat your guests can assemble themselves! I just love snacks that allow your guests to mix and match their favorite flavors.
Ingredients:
- Three Kellogg’s cereal varieties: Raisin Bran, Froot Loops, Frosted Mini Wheats
- Peppermint bark pieces
- Christmas tree marshmallows
- Candy-coated chocolate pieces
- Chocolate-covered raisins
- Your favorite holiday candies
Directions:
Begin by setting up a spread of all your trail mix ingredients. I love using fun holiday dishes to display all of the ingredients to build this trail mix recipe. It adds to the festive nature of this Christmas tree party.
Place seasonal bags out for guests to place all of their holiday trail mix ingredients inside. This way, they can enjoy their snack at the party and take some home for afterwards. I added the Christmas tree ties to “tie in” the party’s theme. Encourage guests to fill their treat bags with their favorite ingredients. I built my trail mix with all of the ingredients to get a nice variety for my holiday snack.
Now that you’ve built a fun edible craft and assembled a tasty snack, it’s time to enjoy the friends and family you invited to your party. Celebrations like this are great because they are festive and include adults and children.
