This Blood Orange Red Wine Sangria is a delicious cocktail for your spring and summer get-togethers!

A few weeks ago, I had fun creating some delicious spring cocktails, and I have just one more: Blood Orange Red Wine Sangria. There’s something really special about this cocktail, though. IT MATCHES MY HAIR! My roots were coming in horribly, so it was definitely time for a touch-up job. Inspired by Schwarzkopf color ULTÎME® in Vintage Red, I mixed up a tasty and refreshing Blood Orange Red Wine Sangria. My hair looks great, I got to sip on an amazing cocktails — sounds like a win-win situation, right? Because what more does a girl need than a great hair color and a delicious beverage? Learn how to make this drink and get a vibrant, long lasting hair color below!

Ingredients for the Blood Orange Red Wine Sangria:

  • Bottle of red wine
  • 3 blood oranges
  • 1 cup of frozen raspberries
  • 1/2 cup simple syrup
  • 1/2 cup orange liqueur
  • ice

Directions for the Blood Orange Red Wine Sangria:

Begin by grabbing a large pitcher and pouring an entire bottle of red wine into it. Yes, entire bottle. You will be enjoying this sangria with some of your friends because it is just delicious. I recommend a red wine that is well-balanced; not too sweet, not too dry. If you are a wine lover, wine coolers uk are essential accessories to have in your collection. Not only are they cost-effective, but they are also extremely useful items that will help you and your guests to enjoy their wine more.Blood Orange Red Wine Sangria our wine

Next, add 1/2 cup of orange liqueur and 1/2 cup of simple syrup. Simple syrup is made by combining equal parts water and sugar in a sauce pan over a low heat until the sugar completely dissolves. When it reaches room temperature, it is ready to be added to drinks.

Squeeze the juice of one blood orange into your pitcher. Don’t have a blood orange? Don’t worry; you can use any type of orange for this recipe. I just love how the blood oranges coordinate with my awesome red hair color. Plus, they are in season now, so it worked out perfectly!

Add one cup of raspberries to the pitcher. I purchased fresh raspberries, but I froze them so they would help chill the drink. You can add fresh room temperature raspberries or purchase raspberries from the frozen section of your grocery store. The flavor will be the same either way.

Finally, slice the remaining two blood oranges, and add the slices to your pitcher. Fill wine glasses with ice, and pour yourself a delicious glass of Blood Orange Red Wine Sangria.

So as I said above, the inspiration for this delicious Blood Orange Red Wine Sangria was my fun Vintage Red hair color, which means that now it’s time to tell you more about that! Last fall, I went to the salon to get my hair professionally colored. It came out great, but it costs a lot more than I can afford to spend for maintenance, so I decided to do the roots at home each month. My hair grows incredibly quickly, so every 4 – 5 weeks, it’s touch-up time. Here’s how I use Schwarzkopf color ULTÎME® with  with “true to box” color results to touch up my roots.
Blood Orange Red Wine Sangria laughJust to show you how my roots were coming in {and get my own serious reality check about those greys that are starting to pop up} here’s my before picture. Schwarzkopf color ULTÎME® is so easy to use. Be sure to do a quick skin test beforehand to make sure you are okay to use the products. Then, place the gloves on your hands, mix the tube into the bottle, twist off the top, and apply to your roots. When my roots are completely covered, I massage from roots to tip, leave the color in my hair for about 25 minutes, and rinse.

Being a natural redhead, it’s fun to take my real hair color and turn it up with this vibrant vintage red. And when I can prepare a Blood Orange Red Wine Sangria to go with it? Even better!
