I recommend you bathe big kids daily – here’s why!
You know how Facebook can get some really silly discussions going sometimes? Well that’s exactly what happened recently. A friend of mine mentioned how frequently she bathed her children, and her friends quickly agreed. I chimed in, saying that in my house, I bathe big kids daily {with a few exceptions, like days we are out late and the kids fall asleep in the car on the drive home}. I quickly realized I was in the minority among her friends, so I polled my friends. I found quite a range of responses, from 2-3 times a week to 1-2 times a day. I’m not sure if my children are just particularly grimy, but after a day of school {e.g. playground, physical education, art projects, kids coughing and sneezing on one another} and home {e.g. playing in the backyard, riding bikes, more arts & crafts, running around with the dogs, dance class, making a mess with food}, my kids are just a mess! Need some evidence?
It always starts out like clean, innocent fun. We have a huge backyard with lots to do: an herb and vegetable garden we planted recently, a pond with fish and the occasional frogs, several fruit-bearing trees. Here, you can see the kids are picking mulberries from our tree, watering the blueberry bush. Doesn’t look too bad… yet.
Some fun on the swingset {which also has two other swings, a slide, and a clubhouse} and some snuggles with one of our dogs, Daisy. It’s a little bit messy, but still, not bad. The kids are having fun, and not making too much of a disaster. But then it happens…
My kids cannot wait to make a giant mess! Lydia and I made the most delicious chocolate truffle brownies last night {real brownies, made with real ingredients, in our actual kitchen, after Bryce fell asleep}, so she decided to creatively replicate this recipe today. Only instead of chocolate, eggs, butter, and sugar, she mixed together water, dirt, soil, twigs, dead grass, and whatever else they found back there to make mud brownies.
Seriously, how could I not bathe my kids after this? Our house rule: bathe big kids daily.
We want to establish healthy hygiene habits early in their lives.
Clearly, these kiddos were ready for a bath! But since we do bathe daily, I need products that are gentle on their skin. Products that can be used to cleanse their skin daily without leaving it dry. That’s where Ivory Free & Gentle comes in. Ivory is a brand that has been trusted for 138 years, and they continue to uphold the standard of using only pure and purposeful ingredients in its products. And now, they’re launching a new line: Free and Gentle Body Wash with a gentle, pure formula, free of parabens, dyes, harsh cleansers, and excessive fragrances.
New Ivory Free & Gentle Body Washes are made with essential oils, and they come in three varieties: Pear & Sandalwood, Chamomile, and Sweet Pea & Lily. Ivory has created soap that is 99.44% pure for over 130 years and is dedicated to providing products with thoughtful ingredients that families trust. Since I bathe my children daily, I need products that I know I can trust. I feel good about using these New Ivory Free & Gentle Body Washes on their skin.
