This Sunday Brunch Toast recipe combines freshly-baked bread, mashed avocado, Black Forest bacon, a fried egg, and aged gouda.




  1. To begin preparing the toast, cook your bacon according to the directions on the package. Save the bacon fat for later.
  2. I like to slice my toast thicker for this recipe, so I purchase my bread unsliced. While the bread is toasting, mash your avocado.
  3. Turn your stovetop to a medium-high heat, crack your egg in the middle of the pan, and fry until the whites are completely set and the yolk is still runny inside.
  4. To complete this dish, lay the fried egg over the bacon, avocado, and toast. Finely-grate your favorite cheese over the top. Season with salt and pepper.
