  1. To prepare this toast recipe, roughly chop your tomatoes, peppers, onions, and garlic.
  2. Add two tablespoons of olive oil to a pan and add the tomatoes, peppers, onions, and garlic. Sauté over medium heat about 12 – 15 minutes. At that time, the tomatoes should break-down, peppers have softened, and onions are translucent.
  3. Add your chopped greens and spices, as well as 1 -2 tablespoons of water, as needed to wilt the greens.
  4. Toast your bread until the edges begin to brown. In a small pan, fry one egg until the edges are crisp but the yolk is still runny. Remember to add salt and pepper to taste!
  5. When your bread is toasted, egg is fried, and Shakshuka mixture is thoroughly cooked, it is time to assemble. Just spread the Shakshuka mixture on to your bread. It should be similar to the texture of a ratatouille or really chunky tomato sauce. Add the fried egg over the top and enjoy!
