Two years ago, for Lydia’s 3rd birthday and Bryce’s 1st birthday, we planned a party at a nearby county park that has a small farm. We bought the kids coordinating outfits, they took a tour of the farm, and went for pony rides. It was so much fun!
Lydia dressed up as a cowgirl and was so excited to pet all of the animals.
Bryce had on his plaid cowboy shirt and enjoyed being carried around in the Ergo… and eating birthday cake.
So you’re probably wondering “Why is this relevant now?” Well, on Monday, we decided to take the kids back to that park. They have been a few times, but this time was extra-special because they put on their birthday outfits from two years ago! Lydia still fits in the dress and boots (yes, two years later, she’s only gained a few pounds, and the dress and boots that were once a little big fit perfectly now).
And I’m not even quite sure what shorts Bryce wore back then and he’s outgrown the shoes, but he’s still wearing the same shirt two years later. Only now he’s obviously walking (running, jumping, climbing, etc.) and has really thinned out as he’s gotten taller.
Here are two other pictures from Monday. The kids had a really nice time looking at the animals and playing on the playground.

It’s amazing how kids can stay in the same clothes when they’re a certain age. My daughter, (9yrs old) has a few dresses she wore when she was 6 to 7-ish but she now wears the dresses as shirts

That’s a great idea, Edna – Throw on a cute dress (that’s too short) with leggings to continue to get use out of it 🙂
