Visit the Explorium of Lexington

Adventures· Posts

I want to highlight some of the great child-friendly places we visited on our trip. The first is Explorium of Lexington, a fun children’s art and science museum located downtown. It has two levels with several different types of hands-on activities for infants through maybe about 8 or 10 years-old, depending upon your child’s interests.

Upstairs, the children explored the surface of the moon. This was pretty cool because our current thematic unit is Outer Space.

There was a big dinosaur dig along with other dinosaur-related play and educational materials.

And a room for arts & crafts. Lydia made a project for her dad for Father’s Day. arts & craftsDownstairs, they had several areas Lydia really liked. The first one was decorated like a barn with life-size horses they could groom and pretend to ride.

They also had an infant and toddler area with water play, books, and lots of fun toys.
