Enjoy a date night with a special person in your life at Red Lobster’s Lobsterfest.
Richard and I rarely plan a fun date for ourselves, so when we did last weekend, we decided to head to Red Lobster to enjoy their Lobsterfest specials. Read more about our date together and learn about how you can enjoy some delicious dishes at Red Lobster!
During Lobsterfest, we can choose from nine new and classic lobster dishes prepared in a variety of craveable ways, including roasted, grilled, topped, and steamed. We began our dining experience with the NEW! Chilled Lobster and Shrimp Cocktail. We kinda thought that a Lobster and Shrimp Cocktail is the sorta dish you can have fun with, so why not eat with your hands, right? The shrimp and lobster tail were both well-chilled and perfectly cooked. It’s a light, refreshing way to begin a seafood meal.
To go with our appetizer, I decided to order a cocktail. This is the NEW! Tropical White Sangria, made with moscato, pineapple and mango juices, and a splash of lemon-lime soda. It’s very refreshing and paired well with the Chilled Lobster and Shrimp cocktail. You can also try the NEW! Lobster Lover’s Punch, served in a 50th Anniversary collectible glass, available for purchase.
Next up, our server Kambri brought out our Caesar side salads {you have a choice of Caesar or garden salad} and our favorite: the Cheddar Bay Biscuits. These definitely bring back memories of my childhood and going to Red Lobster as a family. I don’t think they’ve changed this recipe a bit, and that’s kinda awesome! Kambri was a great server. She told us all about the new puppy she is adopting, and clearly she didn’t mind us taking her picture to share with our readers. If you visit the Red Lobster in Gainesville, Florida, ask for Kambri for friendly service!
After salad and bread, it’s entree time! We picked two of the new Lobsterfest specials: NEW! Dueling Lobster Tails™ and NEW! Lobster Truffle Mac & Cheese. The Dueling Lobster Tails™ comes with a Maine lobster tail steamed in parchment paper with fresh herbs, tomatoes and lemon. It is served over rice. This is paired with a grilled Maine lobster tail topped with shrimp, bay scallops, and roasted bell peppers in a creamy sauce and a side of your choice.
The Lobster Truffle Mac & Cheese is another tasty choice, made with Maine and langostino lobster tossed with cavatappi pasta in a cheesy truffle lobster cream, topped with toasted Parmesan panko crumb. The lobster chunks were delicious, and you can definitely taste the truffle flavor. The portion size is generous, so it’s a great dish for sharing!
We got a little silly while we were there… well, because, that’s what you can do in a laid-back restaurant like Red Lobster. Enjoy time spent with your partner, some tasty food, a great drink, and just have fun! We are coming up on our 13-year anniversary shortly, so it’s great to just be able to set aside time to connect. Life gets so hectic, use those rare opportunities to spend with the people you love.
